New Cycling Studio Part of Growing Trend

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) — In the middle of the day-to-day hustle and bustle, a new studio is helping people escape by zooming to the music.

“The lights are totally dark, that’s why we have an immersive sound and lighting experience so that you sort of lose yourself in where you are and don’t get caught up in any the typical type judgments,” said Justin Goodman, co-owner of Zoom.

With the music, the movement, all of it, you’re bound to lose yourself in it.

The owners lost themselves in the process of making sure they brought the best of the best to Central Virginia.

“We traveled all over the world and took cycling classes,” said Cara Goodman. “We took them in Spain and different places we’ve traveled and took them all over the U.S. and took cycling classes at different studios.”

Taking what they saw in Singapore, Dubai, Los Angeles, New York, Dallas and several other places, Cara and Justin opened Zoom in the Barracks Road Shopping Center.

Zoom is an indoor cycling studio focused on low impact cardio and fun.

“The music is different every time,” said Jeff Karmath, who was trying out a Zoom class. “It’s a different workout mix, different instructors, it’s exciting, it’s innovative each time you come in the class so it keeps you on your feet.”

Besides keeping you moving, the classes keep you on some top of the line bikes.

Zoom is the only studio in Central Virginia using them.

The real draw is a wall with more than 200 lights that move to the beat, keeping you entertained while working out.

Only in its preview week, the studio already has a wait list for most of its classes.

A membership will cost you about $125 for the top of the line world class-cycling experience.
